Among other things, the restaurant is popular; it is now run by the new operator. External bathers are a thing of the past, the lake is exclusively for campers. There is even a beaver now resident, but he keeps his distance from the bathers. His castle is at the end of the lake.

After a lot of back and forth and criticism of the leaseholder of the restaurant, the team from the Coppenbrügge chicken grill is now running the restaurant. They do it really well! Great choice of food at reasonable prices. It would be nice if it was a permanent solution....

The "Holzhäuser sinkhole" is one of several water-filled sinkholes in rocks of the Upper Buntsandstein. It was formed more than 300 years ago as a result of underground leaching of Zechstein rock salt. Its diameter is 50 to 60 m and its volume is around 125,000 m³. The smaller double sinkhole, about 100 m further south, consists of two touching funnels and has a volume of about 55,000 and 20,000 m³.

Bad Pyrmont became famous as a spa in the years 1556/57, when 10,000 people came from all over Europe ("great miracle run") to find healing and to experience the miraculous spring. The vapor cave, which is unique to this day and where natural carbonic acid (as a mofette) rises to the surface, was scientifically examined by the fountain doctor Johann Philipp Seip, who came to Pyrmont in 1712. This carbonic acid is also used as a therapeutic agent. Six healing springs are used today, from which the Hufelandtherme - a public wellness swimming pool with sauna area - is also supplied. Even the Romans and Germans knew and used the Pyrmont healing springs. This is documented by around 300 bronze fibulae, three Roman denarii and a provincial Roman enamelled ladle, which were discovered in 1863 during construction work on the Brodel spring. The finds date from the last decades B.C. until well into the 4th century, with a focus apparently being at the end of the 2nd and beginning of the 3rd century.
