The Flögelner See is an approximately 1.55 square kilometer (= 155 hectare) moor lake near the village of Flögeln north of the moor spa Bad Bederkesa in the north of Lower Saxony. There are water connections to Halemer and to Dahlemer See, which are under nature protection. The lake borders extensive moor areas in the northeast. The very flat north-west bank tends to silt up. In contrast, in the southeast of the lake there is a partly bizarrely hollowed out steep bank on a geest slope. There is a small island in the lake where you can see the remains of a medieval moated castle.
