Very worth seeing

The history of the Dürrenmungenau moated castle goes back to the year 1278, when "Mungenau" was first mentioned. During the Thirty Years' War, the castle and the entire town were razed and subsequently left a deserted place. It was not until the 1720s that it was rebuilt in its baroque form. Another fundamental renovation took place around 1900.

The Wernfels Castle is always worth a hike, if only because of the breathtaking view that the very well-kept complex offers, in the complex there is a youth hostel with individual use, among other events for young and old. The castle has been renovated in a modern way and has the flair of the Middle Ages not lost.

Until 1806, Triesdorf was the summer residence of the Margraves of Brandenburg-Ansbach and a garrison site. Today the town houses the Triesdorf Agricultural Training Center of the Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences, whose facilities use a large part of the historic buildings from the time of the Margraves. Triesdorf is the smallest place in Germany where there is a university.

Wernfels Castle now serves as a youth hostel.

Beautiful old fortress used as a state archive. As far as I know, visits are not possible.
