Beautifully situated in the woods. Must be a shady spot for a rest in the summer. Unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to stop in and try the food...maybe next time.

After the liberation from fascism, the Egelsbach Nature Friends were given a leased plot of land on the edge of the forest and timber as compensation for their destroyed house. They built the house on their own, inaugurated it in 1952 as a "forest home" and continued to build on and renovate it over the years. The Nature Friends House is looked after and maintained on a voluntary basis. Friendly groups use it and it can be rented at reasonable prices. The self-catering house (24 overnight accommodations in shared rooms) also offers relaxation on the grounds with shady seating and a playground.
