Here, the cycle path crosses the watershed between the Leine and Unstrut rivers. To the north, the water flows via the Leine, Aller, and Weser rivers into the North Sea. There, it also meets the water that flows southward via the Unstrut, Saale, and Elbe into the North Sea.

Attention ‼️ The Touringen stamp “Maienwand” is not there. If you walk the jungle path, which we did, you will miss the “Maienwand” stamp and have to go back from the viewpoint. 🤷‍♂️ The box hangs at the junction of the Leine-Werra-Weg and is called “Maienwand”, even though it is quite a distance away.
