The great pond is the Mühlenbach. It is a regulated stream that meanders through the city center and is divided into different sections. In the Lindengarten you can stroll along the Mühlenbach and enjoy the idyllic nature. The Mühlenbach begins as an outflow of the Mühlenteich, which is fed by the Wallensteingraben. It leaves the pond on the western bank, passes under the Wismar-Bad Kleinen railway line and flows from there in a northerly direction. In the Lindengarten, south of the train station, the Mühlenbach is dammed. After passing under Bahnhofstrasse, the watercourse is called the Mühlengrube. The Mühlenbach played an important role historically: it was regulated as early as the 13th century to operate mills and to make it navigable. Barges transported goods such as grain, salt and herring. The stream was also used for washing clothes and supplying water. Here is another piece of beach where you slowly get into the depths. On the other side of the cycle path there are a lot of wild campers (overnight in mobile homes and cars) on wide sandy paths. I don't know if it's allowed here.
