The outdoor pool and the Großensee are great - the Midsummer Triathlon and transition zone also take place here https://midsummer-triathlon.de But if you want to ride a racing bike (and don't want to take breaks to swim) you should know: you can't get to the lake from the poorly paved road and the road through Großensee is in a miserable condition: potholes, patches and bumps without end, so that you can hardly find a track that you can get through easily. There are also quite a lot of cars and a footpath, which isn't really an alternative either.

It's actually more like dogs bathing here. I've only rarely seen people jump into the water here. And when they did, they always had their dogs with them. The Mönchsteich itself is an "insider tip" for a short walk anyway.

From the lido I like to start hikes around the Großensee and then end them in the Italian restaurant next to the campsite or in the village inn. I haven't been to the swimming pool yet. However, many swimmers get into the water in other places on the way around the lake.

A wonderful hike around the Mönchsteich, if you hike normally, the tour takes about 1 1/2 hours. There is also an American restaurant at the parking lot at the start of the hike.

A very nice lido with a large sunbathing area, kiosk, playground, etc. - although there is an entrance fee - but it is well-kept and worth the money - very recommendable. The Schwarze Au is dammed up here to form the mill pond. The first mill was the grain mill on the mill pond just before the river flows into the Bille. It was first mentioned in a document in 1350 in a messenger invoice from the Hamburg treasury. It was a compulsory mill for 13 surrounding villages until the introduction of freedom of trade. In 1650, the Auemühle brewery is attached to the mill and licensing rights are granted. 1681 Construction of a sawmill "not far from the place where the awe flows into the bille".
