Beautiful view over the idyllic lake

The Beidendorfer See (official name Klempauer Hof-See) is a lake east of Krummesse in the area of the municipality of Klempau in the Herzogtum Lauenburg district in the immediate vicinity of the Lübeck district of Beidendorf. The Beidendorfer See is leased as a club water for the Lübeck sports fishing club and has a good fish population of eels, perch, pike, carp and tench. The fishing club maintains a club area at the lake. There is a public bathing area that is heavily used in summer and is guarded by the DLRG Lübeck.

How the lake has changed! The last time I was here, the East German border still ran along the eastern side of the lake. And "over there," the Vopos (commanders of the East German state) watched with binoculars to make sure the fisherman didn't venture too far out in his boat. Today, you can hardly reach the shore anywhere because of all the boat docks.
