That's the way it is. The boardwalk is impassable and the alternative is really exciting. Surefootedness and a sense of balance are required here. In really wet weather it will probably be impassable...

The boardwalk through the Everglades is really crass and impassable. The alternative trail has an incline and is sometimes adventurous. Great jungle feeling!🤩

The circumnavigation of Lake Neumühle is exciting; it is mostly in the shade and on beaten paths diligently uphill and downhill. The passage at the northern tip is a bit tricky, but can be mastered.

To the right and left of the road there are two reservoirs of the Stepenitz. As far as I know, the Stepenitz was dammed here in the 1970s. It is worth taking a short break here to enjoy nature.

Lake Neumühler was created by glaciers during the ice age. The lake is the habitat of the otter and belongs to the European Natura 2000 protected area system. Parts of the bank areas are legally protected biotopes.

A very nice swimming spot, but unfortunately there is a fee because it is actually reserved for residents of the Dümmer holiday village.

Road-bound bike paths, quiet community roads and forest trails provide an ideal environment for smaller and larger bike tours around the Dümmersee. The signs simplify orientation in the community.
