It is a shame that this gravel lake is not freely accessible as a swimming area. Again and again the entrance is closed. Nevertheless, locals are looking for their way there, and rightly so: here you can swim and bathe wonderfully in crystal clear water. It would only be nice if everyone took their rubbish back with them.

With trash can and shelter and with a beautiful lake and behind it is a beautiful church. It is worth it!

West of Anklam is part of the Lower Peenetal Nature Reserve. Peenetalmoor has been under protection since 1979. Here, just south of Menzlin, there are some former peat bogs. There are a few small paths that you can ride along the bike and right on the Peene you will also find a canoe rental: http://www.kanuverleih-menzlin.de/
