The freshwater lake “Wriakhörn” is located directly in the dunes between Wittdün and the lighthouse. A boardwalk leads around the lake to Kniepsand. Information boards provide information about flora and fauna and resting places invite you to linger. Here you can watch resting sea and beach birds and enjoy the fresh breeze from the nearby North Sea. From the nearby viewing dune you can see over dunes to the lighthouse. During the breeding season you can see many eider ducks making their way towards the Wadden Sea with their chicks.

The Vogelkoje was no longer accessible to us from the street. You can reach the beautiful little lake from the hiking trail. The path is a bit adventurous and only suitable for hikers who are good on foot.
