Haverlahwiese opencast mine: Iron ore was mined from 1937 to 1967 by Reichswerke and Salzgitter AG. Incredibly, it was once the largest iron ore mine in Germany and, at times, in Europe.

The Innerstetalsperre is a dam on the Innerste, which is located near Langelsheim and Wolfshagen in the Harz Mountains. It was built from 1963 to 1966 and belongs to the Harzwasserwerke. There is a very great circular route around the Innerstetalsperre. On one side you drive on the Innersteradweg and on the other side you drive directly along the dam. There you can enjoy the fantastic views of the Innerste Dam on one of the numerous benches or cycle straight down to the water and take a refreshing swim 💦

An approximately 7 km long circular path for pedestrians and cyclists leads around the Innerstetalsperre. Water sports and swimming are permitted, and there are also restaurants and plenty of benches with beautiful views of the dam. The 750 m long dam is the longest dam in the Harz.

It is beautiful around here. You can reach the place by bike, car or on foot. It's great for a walk or camping at the campsite.

Beautiful views from the Lindtalsweg. The steep ascent is definitely worth it. There are always beautiful rustic benches to linger.

From the Lindtalsweg you have a really overwhelming view of the Innerstetalsperre 😍 After the long and very steep ascent, you can catch your breath here and then tackle the remaining climb with renewed strength. You can swim in the Innerstetalsperre, it is used for all kinds of water sports and you can go around it in connection with the Innersteradweg. Whether on foot, by bike or inline skates. Food and drink is provided about halfway between the start and the dam wall, and the popular ice cream truck stands at the dam wall every day during the season.
