The Innerstetalsperre is a dam on the Innerste, which is located near Langelsheim and Wolfshagen in the Harz Mountains. It was built from 1963 to 1966 and belongs to the Harzwasserwerke. Their purpose is to provide drinking water, flood protection, increase low water levels and generate electricity. The average annual discharge from the Innerste Dam is 60 million m³. Source wikipedia

Beautiful views from the Lindtalsweg. The steep ascent is definitely worth it. There are always beautiful rustic benches to linger.

From the Lindtalsweg you have a really overwhelming view of the Innerstetalsperre 😍 After the long and very steep ascent, you can catch your breath here and then tackle the remaining climb with renewed strength. You can swim in the Innerstetalsperre, it is used for all kinds of water sports and you can go around it in connection with the Innersteradweg. Whether on foot, by bike or inline skates. Food and drink is provided about halfway between the start and the dam wall, and the popular ice cream truck stands at the dam wall every day during the season.
