In winter, the Groß Lindow Kienstubbenverein still lights a charcoal kiln here at a traditional charcoal burning site. It's great that there are people in the region who still maintain this ancient craft and make it possible to experience it.

The aging bird watching hut was demolished in late summer 2024 by trainees from the state forestry service and rebuilt under the guidance of their instructor. Many thanks!! Also to everyone who worked to make this possible. You can observe numerous water birds from here, especially in the afternoon. Tip: Don't forget your binoculars!

It is actually a former forester's house in the middle of the forest. Today it is a small hotel with 12 rooms and a restaurant. The food is good. The selection of dishes is relatively small, but by no means boring.

The WaldSeehotel Wirchensee is picturesquely located on an almost island between Stubbensee and Wirchensee. Beautiful. You can stop here for a break or – if you are on a multi-day hike – spend the night. You can find further information and opening times here: https://hotel-wirchensee.de/.

There is a hut book here. Very fine what drives the bells when they can ponder in the green far away from everything.

A hut by the roadside turns out to be a birdwatching spot. The book contains some humorous entries, and in addition to birds, joggers, New Year's Eve revelers, and even mosquitoes were counted.

Easy to drive part of the Oder cycle path as a dike defense path (actually blocked by VZ 250 for vehicles of all kinds). So priority of those entitled.

The dike defense path is actually closed, but cyclists are tolerated as the Oder cycle path. Work on the dam has priority and cyclists have to wait.
