After a hike around Lake Wirchensee or as a break on a bike ride through the Schlaubetal valley, a visit to the Waldseehotel Wirchensee is worthwhile. The terrace offers a magnificent view of the lake.

A charcoal burner's area, including a hut and Hille Bille (the charcoal burners' alarm system in case of attacks), was recreated here.

In winter, the Groß Lindow Kienstubbenverein still lights a charcoal kiln here at a traditional charcoal burning site. It's great that there are people in the region who still maintain this ancient craft and make it possible to experience it.

The aging bird watching hut was demolished in late summer 2024 by trainees from the state forestry service and rebuilt under the guidance of their instructor. Many thanks!! Also to everyone who worked to make this possible. You can observe numerous water birds from here, especially in the afternoon. Tip: Don't forget your binoculars!
