After a hike around Lake Wirchensee or as a break on a bike ride through the Schlaubetal valley, a visit to the Waldseehotel Wirchensee is worthwhile. The terrace offers a magnificent view of the lake.

The aging bird watching hut was demolished in late summer 2024 by trainees from the state forestry service and rebuilt under the guidance of their instructor. Many thanks!! Also to everyone who worked to make this possible. You can observe numerous water birds from here, especially in the afternoon. Tip: Don't forget your binoculars!

Basically, the hotel is beautifully situated in the Schlaubetal.

Very nice and sturdy shelter. The nature around the hut is also very worth seeing.

It is actually a former forester's house in the middle of the forest. Today it is a small hotel with 12 rooms and a restaurant. The food is good. The selection of dishes is relatively small, but by no means boring.

The shelter at this beautiful rest area offers you shelter if rain or night catches you by surprise. In order to preserve the beams and forest, the fireplace has now been dismantled. Use this place to take a deep breath - forest, meadow and water characterize the moment. #respectfornature Thank you for respecting and protecting our unique nature in the Schlaubetal. Nature parks are cultural landscapes in which people have lived and worked for centuries and are also habitats for rare, sometimes protected animals and plants. This rich cultural and natural heritage can be experienced with all the senses, but should always be respected. Please be careful and conscious when you are out and about.
