A wonderful and hidden place is probably Gut Klostermühle. The hotel is more for upscale guests. However, there is also a monastery café right on the lake. The lake can be circled on good hiking trails. You definitely have peace here.

The circular route is great. In Falkenhagen there is the Swiss house and the ice garden for a little rest. The lake is very clean and there are small bathing spots every now and then.

The term “Biegener Hellen” refers to a strip of green up to a kilometer wide, in which there are seven holes, some of which are filled with water, the “Hellen”. This terminal moraine was created in the Ice Age. The warming inland ice melted and dug collecting basins and drainage channels. At that time, the whole valley was full of water, which flowed down like a torrent towards the Warsaw-Berlin glacial valley. The remaining lakes in the Frankfurt district are actually called Höllen. Only one in the Oder-Spree area is called Biegener Helle. In total, only four of the seven bodies of water in the strip have a name. Not all of them always have water. In the Hohenwalder area there is the sheep hell, the crooked hell and the blank hell.
