good food and nice beer garden directly on the Lieser

One of the few rest stops outside of the cities on the entire Lieserweg. Be sure to use it and stagger across the suspension bridge!

There is also a village shop at the Pilerger hostel where you can stock up on supplies and also drink a coffee and eat a piece of cake.

The idyllically situated Pleiner Mühle lies on the Lieser path and on several other circular and hiking trails. A stop here is definitely worthwhile, be it to refresh yourself with cool drinks or to strengthen yourself with delicious food or great cakes. Since June 2022, the Pleiner Mühle can be reached again via a great new suspension bridge, after the devastating flood of the century in 2021 had completely destroyed the old bridge. The interim solution with the "ferry" was imaginative, but not a permanent solution. The food is very good and plentiful, the service staff is very friendly. Unfortunately, there are many places outside in the blazing sun, a few more umbrellas would provide more pleasant shade, at least with today's temperatures above 26° Current information directly at https://alte-pleiner-muehle.de/

Dear hikers... we are open from Thursday to Sunday and of course also on public holidays, from 11 a.m. to at least 6 p.m. 😃

Our happiness on a long tour. Beautiful shelter in the forest with wood and fireplace.

There was wood on site, a fire pit and it's fairly well covered. However, visible and not protected from rain and wind, the tarp was important, but we were happy to find shelter there at night.
