This beautiful, small shelter (with table) of the PWV Gleiszellen-Gleishorbach used to be a few meters further up. After major pipeline excavation work, the traces of which can still be seen everywhere here, it was moved about 50 - 100 m. (As of Nov. 2024) This shelter is not to be confused with the large bar hut of the PWV Klingenmünster (big festival on May Day!), which is located very close by a little further down.

You can stop here every day (except on Tuesdays when it is closed) from 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. They offer inexpensive, mostly simple but delicious dishes. An ideal "pit stop" on bike tours.

All information about the Naturfreundehaus Kandel can be found here: https://www.naturfreunde-kandel.de/ The house is also open in Corona times. Check-in via the luca app (almost never possible, as there is usually no mobile network available) or by slip of paper. Of course, there is also home-style cooking and a pint. Nice beer garden.
