A beautiful biotope. It's a great place to have a picnic—but please take your trash with you.

In Stromberg, a mass of lime from the Middle Devonian is mined, which is burned on site in a special plant. Minerals were found in quartz and calcite veins. The dating of the age of the lime goes back to a fossil find from 1909 by Karl Geib. The area was also occasionally mined for lead ore. Unfortunately, nothing can be seen of these relics. Part has fallen victim to rock quarrying.

At the beginning of 2014, quarrying at the Hunsfelsen was finally stopped and the quarry is being recultivated.

This nature reserve is a man-made natural paradise. Narrow, easy to walk paths lead directly past oxbow lakes with beautiful vegetation and lots of ducks. We also saw water snakes here.

A nice resting place at the small pond. Here you can often see children and dogs playing and at the moment you can mainly hear frogs croaking.
