10월 19, 2024, Altlay Recreation and Barbecue Area
The recreational area consists of a 200 square meter rustic wooden shelter. There is a spacious covered barbecue area in the immediate vicinity. Users also have access to solid sanitary facilities. In an adjoining room there is a counter with a sink with hot and cold running water and a refrigerator. Other facilities include marquee furniture and mobile windows for the shelter. Thanks to the power connection and permanently installed lighting, your event does not have to end when darkness falls. The large parking and camping area round off the offer. The rental fees for public commercial events are €120, private events cost €60. Local users only pay half the rental costs. Electricity and water are billed separately according to consumption. When using the barbecue, an additional cleaning fee of €10 is charged. Of course, the site and its facilities must be left completely clean. A deposit of €60 is charged for security. 4월 10, 2023, Rotzekopp Hut
On the municipal border between Pilmeroth and Emmeroth, for example, you pass the Rotzekopp Hut on the Moselsteig Trail, a side trip to the parish's valley tour. The trail leads up along a beautiful, narrow path. Built in 1973 by the volunteer fire departments of both villages, it can now be rented for events after renovations in 2001. The complex consists of several fire pits and huts, as well as a stage. A campsite is located right next to it. The site on Rotzekopp is called the Kaisergarten (Emperor's Garden). Therefore, some of the seating areas on the grounds face the "Kaisereiche" (Emperor's Oak). Many locations and trees (especially the "German" oak) were dedicated to the German Emperor and the German Empire at the end of the 19th century. These names are gradually disappearing as many old oak trees reach the end of their lives and are felled.

On December 19, 2020, the hut was made available to the general public. Since then, the interior has been equipped with a sleeping loft of approx. 5 square meters, a 3.5m long solid log table and several benches. The windows and the door keep wind and weather outside. A handcrafted acrylic glass pane is installed in the gable on the south side and allows a view of the sunrise from the sleeping loft. A USB charging station and LED lighting powered by a PV system are available as technical equipment. In the outdoor area, under the roof overhangs, several solid wood seats were installed and also provide visitors with a weatherproof rest area. Since June 2021 we have kept two drawers with mineral water and spritzer in the basement for those who are thirsty. Source: https://hennweiler.de/tourismus/teufelsfelshuette/

Quelle: Text Infotafel

The real highlight at this location are the ruins of what was then the Idarbachtal swimming pool The Laufersweiler swimming pool in the Idarbachtal - part 1 The municipality of Laufersweiler built a swimming pool in the Idarbach valley in the summer of 1928 with relatively little financial means. It was divided into a swimmer, a non-swimmer and a paddling pool. The then teacher Gustav Ludwig proudly reported in the Hunsrück calendar: “Without thinking twice, this area of the district, which belongs to the municipality of Laufersweiler, can be described as one of the most beautiful in the whole of the Hunsrück. To build a swimming pool in this valley has long been the ardent desire of many water sports enthusiasts. The municipal council of Laufersweiler has taken on this matter and built the "Idarbad" with a water surface of around 3,000m² in an idyllic location in the Idarbach valley. The filling of the bath, which holds about 5000 cbm of water, is ensured by the water-rich Idarbach, which carries enough water even in the dry years. The location of the bath is unique. On one side of the bath, a steep rock with a wonderful pine forest rises out of the clear water. A large meadow on the other side invites you to swim in the air, light and sunbathe. The location and the fresh water attracted many bathers from near and far last summer (1929). Laufersweiler has never seen so many visitors. ”Source: Text information board

Very beautiful view. I remembered the path to the Teufelsfels steeper, but it is very easy to drive on. But the way there is worth it. Next to the tower is a beautiful new log cabin where I can comfortably take a break.
