Köhlmoor Castle was rebuilt in 2014 and is located next to the airfield in Felde - Westerstede. The castle received its name because the “Köhlmoor” was once located in this area. Stickhausen Castle is located on the western edge of the town of Stickhausen, a district of the East Frisian municipality of Detern in the Leer district in Lower Saxony.

In 2013, two former moats were uncovered here during an excavation. Stickhausen Castle has guarded the south-eastern entrance to East Friesland since the mid-15th century. For more than two centuries it was a military fortress and protected East Friesland from enemy incursions from the east and south. In the 18th century it lost its military importance, but remained the seat of the administration of the old office of Stickhausen and the district court until 1885. Then in private hands for more than 120 years, it has belonged to the joint municipality of Jümme since 2019. The Stickhausen Castle Association has been setting up a museum in the castle tower since 2020. Its development is financed by membership fees and donations.
