Beautiful place! But unfortunately the area is no longer maintained. Very tall grass! I think it's a shame! Such a beautiful place should definitely be maintained regularly by the city of Höxter!

The Carolinenteich in the Reiherbachtal is a Romanesque place. The pond can be completely circumnavigated and several benches invite you to take a break.

The port is the "heart and center of the city" - the baroque port with lock directly in the historic old town of Bad Karlshafen! In 2019, the historic harbor was reopened for shipping and can be navigated from the Weser via a new lock. This reconnection was funded with 5.5 million euros by the Federal Republic of Germany as a "national urban development project". As a water tourism highlight, the harbor is available for smaller yachts, sports boats and canoes. Let yourself be smuggled into the historic harbor basin of Bad Karlshafen from the Weser and enjoy the Mediterranean flair of the city center from the water. The port is usable for boats with a maximum length of up to 12 meters and a maximum width of 6 meters and a draft of maximum 80 cm; Total vehicle height including draft at water level 95.16 m above sea level. Definitely worth a trip. Pack your swimming gear and picnic basket and go. Don't forget sun protection, as the few trees are quickly occupied. Be careful, lots of wasps at the end of summer!

The Carolinenteich was created in 1971. It had an historical precedent that lay in the hollow behind you. A little below (approx. 100 m to the east) the breached dam of this previous pond can still be seen.
