The former mining areas of gravel and sand in Lahde have been beautifully renaturalized.

The approximately 19 hectare[1] large Lahder Marsch nature reserve is located in the natural area of the Weser valley about one kilometer south of the Lahde district of the city of Petershagen and is part of the EU bird sanctuary "Weseraue".[1] As a part of this bird sanctuary, the Lahder Marsch is part of the Natura 2000 network of special protection areas in accordance with the FFH Directive.

The Uchter Landschaftssee is a popular destination in the Uchte municipality. This lake was completed in 1999 and offers an area for relaxation and enjoying nature. Here are some interesting facts about the Uchter Landschaftssee: Fishing spots and fish stocks: The waters around the Uchter Landschaftssee are rich in both non-predatory and predatory fish such as eels, carp, tench and pike. There are special protected and spawning areas where fishing is generally prohibited. In addition, breeding times must be observed in summer, which is why some areas of the shore are closed. The signs on site provide further information. Recreational activities: In addition to fishing, the lake also offers other recreational opportunities.
