The area was already placed under protection as a natural monument in 1938, and the protection status was later extended.

A very impressive natural monument

It's easy to park at the Nagelmaschinen Highlight and get into the valley. The old factory has its charm. In the natural part of the valley you are suddenly away from "civilization", between rocks and old trees with the constant rushing of the Röslau. The Elisenfels Viaduct again announces the next location. Next to it the small waterfall still rustles gently.

The Great Devil's Kitchen presents itself as a deep valley with piled-up granite giants and invites you to discover it. No wonder that people used to tell each other gruesome legends about such mysterious backdrops.

An impressive place with fairies on all sides, a babbling stream and lots of peace!

On the west side from the log cabin to the south runs the bank path, which is very rustic and natural. The Goldsteig, a popular long-distance hiking trail, runs from Falkenstein to the Blockhütte on the east side and from the hut on the west side. The surrounding paths are great for walking around.

A pleasure in every season 🥰

The Waldnaabtal nature reserve has a wow effect for me, the mighty rock formations only amaze you, the paths are well secured, some with wooden walkways and metal stairs. There is a very popular excursion restaurant "Blockhütte" with regional cuisine and beer garden. Since there is a hiking car park nearby, it is a good starting point for many hikes.
