The Gailach stream originates in the pond near the small village of Kreut (Monheim), and flows into the Altmühl River approximately 20 km to the east. Directly beside the pond is a chapel with a remarkable interior painting. Resting benches are also available.

It's one of two huts located in the cross-country ski section. The pond is somewhat hidden during the lush vegetation season. Signs with the relevant information can be found near the trees.

Danger! The dam path is currently closed at this point - there is no way to get through there. Drive around widely or choose a different side of the dam if necessary! 😉
