The Großenbach Valley near Sachsenbrunn (a district of Eisfeld in the Thuringian Forest) is an idyllic, wooded valley surrounding the Großenbach River, which flows into the Werra River at Sachsenbrunn. With the nearby Bleßberg (867 m) and the yew grove, the region offers excellent hiking and recreational opportunities in the upper Werra Valley.

Impressive limestone walls right on the Grümpen riverbed. If you follow the Gold Trail, you'll pass right by here.

A beautifully collected spring rises near the Rappersgraben. Next to it is an information board and a hut. The plaque reports on the special vegetation there. A little further up at the edge of the field there is another information board on the edge of the field for the Geotope Rappersgraben. It was created over centuries by the cutting of the river. A few steps from the sign, the terrain drops off abruptly, impressive.
