It's hard to believe. It's almost on the road, but not visible from it. A grotto-like sandstone rock formation with a central bench.

The Beutelstein is located directly at the bottom of the Nagold valley near Bad Liebenzell. The top layer of the Bunter sandstone extends to the valley floor here. The basement rock of gneiss and granite is located beneath the Bunter sandstone. The Nagold has not dug deep enough near Bad Liebenzell to expose the basement rock. However, south of Bad Liebenzell there is a place where the Forbach granite is exposed on a road embankment. The boundary between granite and Bunter sandstone is therefore somewhat higher there than directly near Bad Liebenzell.

You can reach the top via a ladder through a crevice in the rock

Rock shelter - unfortunately we couldn't really find the path below the cave and then had to fight our way down the steep slope in a somewhat adventurous manner.

We were hoping to climb the ladder. Unfortunately, there is no ladder left in the cave. (as of March 2022)

Footpath connects the residential area of Kaffehof and Liebenzell, it leads up over the main road down along the slope Narrow hairpin bends and steps require good driving technique with wheel shifting. At the exit then the moon hole with a bench to soak up the sun 🌞 very nice, view directly on the street and disposal company is rather modest there are nicer ones.

A total of 174 steps (steel, sandstone and wooden beams) lead up the Beilfelsen and always provide a different view of the impressive rock formation.
