Noer Castle is not open to the public. It's a youth guesthouse, similar in style to a youth hostel, where youth orchestras and other groups can hold workshops or rehearsal retreats. Inside, there are beautiful halls with pianos for performances, but it's not at all grand. We were here for a violin workshop. However, you can use Noer Castle as a starting point for a hike and, of course, view it from the outside. There's also a bus stop here.

Tip: It's worth walking just behind the castle in the direction of the forest, where there is an incredibly large old oak tree. Still behind the park.

It used to be called Gut Kohövede (cow farm). Today's mansion is imposing built on the foundations of a moated castle. It was built from 1729 for Ludwig von Dehn, who gave the estate its name. For a long time it was one of the largest estates in the state and it is still one of the most important creations of the Baroque period in Schleswig-Holstein. Particularly worth seeing are the "Colorful Chamber" with its splendid room decorations made up of 145 emblems and the impressive gatehouse from the 16th century. Diverse cultural events take place regularly at Gut Ludwigsburg. The annual Christmas market is particularly popular.
