You can easily walk along the ring wall of the historic site. A footpath winds through a double row of ancient oaks.

The eastern part of the probably circular rampart, facing the lake, is now missing. The remaining rampart is interrupted by a gap of around 30 metres in the west. The entire complex is around 1.5 metres above the level of the surrounding fields, and the rampart is up to four metres high. The remaining parts are covered with a row of oak trees, but are still clearly visible. The town of Neumünster has placed the area under landscape protection. The inner castle consists of an open grassy area. Paths lead along the rampart and through the inner castle.

Very nice place for a walk and to linger.

It's always nice when a city decides to showcase its waters.

The rest forest begins directly after walking between the ponds. Right at the beginning there is a small place of worship where you can rest on several benches. A sign asks you to only walk (i.e. do not push or ride bicycles). If you walk along the paths there you will pass several other, but smaller places of worship. I can only warmly recommend stopping by here.

Located in the middle of the city, with a small park that invites you to linger. In summer the "wine tasting" takes place there. 🍷🥂 During Advent, glowing "Christmas baubles" float on it. The town hall/theater borders on it. Opposite is the Holsten Gallery.
