The rest forest begins directly after walking between the ponds. Right at the beginning there is a small place of worship where you can rest on several benches. A sign asks you to only walk (i.e. do not push or ride bicycles). If you walk along the paths there you will pass several other, but smaller places of worship. I can only warmly recommend stopping by here.

With only 2.41 ha of small willow thicket and reed wilderness, the core of today's nature reserve (NSG) "West shore of Lake Einfeld" was placed under protection by decree on January 24, 1955 as a "bird sanctuary at Lake Einfeld". The primary protection goal was to create an undisturbed reserve for bird life. Due to the progressive silting up of the lake, the topography of the nature reserve soon no longer corresponded to its registered borders. However, it was to take more than ten years before the NSG was finally enlarged to around 13 ha by decree of November 12, 1987. At the same time, the protection goal was expanded to include a sustainable safeguarding of the near-natural shore landscape with various silting-up zones and an open water surface. The nature reserve for NABU Schleswig-Holstein has been looked after by NABU Neumünster from the start.

The idyllic Waldgut Waldhütten is located in the middle of the Aukrug Nature Park. The pond and forestry operation is privately owned and offers those seeking relaxation the ideal opportunity to spend a vacation in nature.
