The shelter is still standing (as of November 25th) and is in good condition. Right next to it is a bathing area with a large meadow and a magnificent view across the lake to the castle.

I passed by here on my hike "Eider Valley with Blue Bridge." The mountain hut was unnecessary that day.

The long swimming area has its own parking space, a football field, a barbecue area, a swing and a bench.

The refuge is located at the western bathing area near the monastery island.

Weatherproof hut with plenty of space.

Bathing area with water slide, bathing jetty, sunbathing area with small playground and barbecue area. There is also a partner bank with a beautiful view of the lake. Waterfowl, who have enough retreat possibilities, feel comfortable on this.

Nice rest area, with its proximity to the city forest & zoo. As well as an information board on the Ochsenweg & Neumünster.

From this refuge you have an unobstructed view over the Eider lowlands with the Galloways.
