The former moated castle passed from the local nobility to the Lords of Bebenburg around 1100. After several destructions, the castle later became the official residence of the Rothenburg bailiffs.

Feuchtwangen (Franconian Feichtwang) is a town in the Ansbach district of Middle Franconia.
