The Danish King Christian IV had the port of the city of Glückstadt built in 1619/20 at the mouth of the Rhins and the Elbe. The port and city were built primarily for strategic reasons. Glückstadt was an important naval base until 1863 in order to secure Denmark's interests in the Elbe and the North Sea.

The city center is really cool. I drove in via the "Reichenstrasse" and immediately met the small, quiet and very beautiful market square. When Corona is finally over, you have to stop for a coffee!
