The Friends of Nature House “St. Klaus ”is located in the northern part of the Augsburg-Westliche Wälder nature park, approx. 15km from Gersthofen in Gablingen / Lützelburg in the Muttershofen district. The house offers a quiet place to relax. A large children's playground ensures that the little ones can let off steam, while the grown-ups relax on the sun terrace with drinks and food. The St. Klaus Hut is open on public holidays and at the weekend from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The hut was built by August-Ganghofer as a forest and shelter hut. It was used for the Arbit and also for unifying. Ludwig Ganghofer's father August moved to Welden and was the royal district forester there for 13 years. He became Ministerialrat of the Royal Bavarian Forest Administration and August Ganghofer was ennobled as a well-deserved reformer of Bavarian forestry.
