Agathenburg Castle: Agathenburg Castle in Agathenburg near Stade in northern Lower Saxony was the country estate of Count Hans Christoph von Königsmarck. The castle was built by Hans Christoph von Königsmarck immediately after the Thirty Years' War. Five manors were divided from the castle fiefdom and the land belonging to the castle; the former castle complex was preserved as Gut I in the former outer bailey; residential and farm buildings were built here. The moat and the northern water systems on the floodplain are also preserved. There is therefore a public interest in the preservation of the facility for historical and urban planning reasons, in particular because of its value in terms of local and regional history and the landscape.
