A lovely rest area with a raised platform can be found in the Agathenburg Castle Park. You can enjoy a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside. Highly recommended. Several information panels in the castle courtyard tell the story of Agathenburg Castle. Hiking and cycling trails are nearby. A visit is highly recommended.

Agathenburg Castle in Agathenburg near Stade in northern Lower Saxony was the country estate of Count Hans Christoph von Königsmarck. The castle was built by Hans Christoph von Königsmarck immediately after the Thirty Years' War.
Agathenburg Castle was built in 1655 by Hans Christoph von Königsmarck as a country estate and was the ancestral seat of the family until it fell to the Electorate of Hanover in 1740. Ownership changed hands frequently. After extensive renovations, the castle was reopened as a cultural center in 1991 and today houses a cultural foundation and a permanent exhibition.
