A really beautiful and idyllic place, hidden in the middle of the forest. At the end of the forest nature trail, these two romantic lakes unexpectedly appear, which are fed by a spring from which the water flows from a half-hollowed tree trunk. Benches, an open fire pit, a bathing spot, especially for dogs and a barbecue area complete the picture. Here you can rest, relax and just relax in beautiful nature. You don't need more. Top recommendation from me

In 2008 the peat mining at Anton-Günther Meiners was given up. The field railway was subsequently dismantled. As the Ernst Karl company continues to mine peat in Westerhorn, their peat plant was reactivated and Ernst Karl bought 3 locomotives from the Meiners company. In 2011, all of the Meiners peat plant was demolished. The field track is still visible and has a length of about 500 meters. Especially in spring there are many ducks and geese on the water surface

The forest educational trail is a beautiful forest trail with many information boards. Trees and tree growth, sense of forestry, plants and wildlife are described on the information boards. So an educational walk 👍
