Stocksee is an idyllic lake in Holstein Switzerland. Surrounded by forests, meadows, and rolling hills, the 1.3-square-kilometer body of water is ideal for swimming, paddling, hiking, and biking. The Schmalensee is located west of the town of Schmalensee and on the border of the Holstein Switzerland Nature Park. It is around 90 hectares in size and up to 7.5m deep. It is part of the Bornhöveder lake chain, which consists of a total of 6 lakes and is also part of the Wankendorfer lake district. South of the Schmalensee in the immediate vicinity is the Bornhöveder See, both are connected by a branch canal about 100m long.
