The Wolfspinge is a collapsed historic ore mine just below the summit of the Plattenberg. A fascinating geo- and biotope (together with the neighboring Eispinge)

The Wolfsbinge is a collapsed tunnel from the tin mining industry. The Eisbinge is narrower and 20 m deep.

Beautiful scenery and a great route - but the surface is a patchwork, which is less fun.

Good example of historical tin ore mining in the Ore Mountains. The pinge was created by mining the Wolfgang ore vein and smaller cross veins.

The ice pinge was created by the mining of the Georg ore vein and there is often ice in the pinge until late summer.

Unfortunately closed in August 2023 due to the risk of falling rocks.

Very nice route with information signs about the area's past. Unfortunately, the asphalt is no longer the best and the racing bike gets a lot of shaking.

From Blatenský vrch I went down to Ledová jáma - a ca. 15 m deep gorge that was created by the collapse of the Jiří (Georg) pit. The snow stays here all year round, which surprised me a lot because I was here in June with summer temperatures. From here it goes down a very lovingly laid out path to the Wolfspinge (Vlčí jáma). The Wolfspinge was created by the collapse of the Wolfgang pit, one of the largest pits in the area. The Ice Canyon and the Wolf's Pine together form the natural monument called Vlčí jáma (Wolf's Pine). Definitely worth seeing :-)
