Below the castle lies the tranquil Woogtal valley, where you can take wonderful walks and relax by the pond.

A path leads steadily uphill from Neuchâtel to near the Reichen Quelle. You walk above a small stream through a side valley partially surrounded by steep slopes on both sides. As of mid-December 2023: There was heavy snowfall on this section in November. That's why there are numerous trees on the path that are difficult to cross over or under. But it is doable.

A walk through the romantic Woogtal is always worth it. The short, steep climb to the castle is highly recommended, among other things. to enjoy the wonderful panoramic view from up there.

A very beautiful landscape

I don't fully understand the previous comment, as the view of Frankfurt is possible from the Burgberg, but not so much from the Woogtal. Regardless, I think the Woogtal is beautiful and recommended,

Beautiful idyllic valley. The stream that is called Woogbach is actually called Reichenbach. It is the left source stream of the Liederbach.

Well, not to be compared with gorges in the traditional sense, but nice nonetheless

Here the Heinerbach winds its way through the woods and has already cut quite deeply.
