The striking and visually unusual building used to serve as a brewery, as already described (initially under the name "Schlossbrauerei", from 1906 as "Hansa-Brauerei"). The architectural style seems strangely inappropriate in the surroundings - and I had to look it up first - it is called Castle Romanesque. No wonder: I don't really associate that with the Hanseatic cities and their brick Gothic architecture.
