The summit cross on Heßlarer Berg (approx. 330 m above sea level) near Karlstadt in Lower Franconia is a popular destination for hikers and offers a panoramic view over the Main Valley. From here, there is an excellent view of Karlstadt as well as the surrounding vineyards and hills of the Franconian Plateau. The rest area at the cross, with tables and benches, is ideally located for a break.

Currently impassable, as there are forestry works in the rear part. Unfortunately, the front part is also very overgrown.

The open-air chapel is reminiscent of the former Kilianstein Castle, whose history includes: is connected to the von Thüngen noble family, which has left its mark in many places in the region. In 1608 it was pledged to the University of Würzburg. From 1660 the castle was no longer inhabited and fell into ruins. From 1904 to 1958, basalt was mined at the top of the Sodenberg, which was originally around 20 m higher. The castle ruins also fell victim to the crater created by the mining - only the cross chapel remained.

The Old Castle is the ruin of a small hilltop castle at 195 m above the Harrbach district of the city of Gemünden. The castle was built around 1100 by the Lords of Harrburg, who were probably the employers of the Lords of Homburg (Gössenheim). In 1469, the Bishopric of Würzburg, under Prince Bishop Rudolf von Scherenberg, acquired the village of Harrbach and the castle, which was destroyed in the Peasants' War in 1525. Around 1900, the castle was demolished as a quarry down to the foundation walls and today, after excavations, the foundation walls, the entrance area of the gate building and the moat can still be seen.
