Parking lot for the start of the circular tour.

A nice rest area above the lake. Ideal for a break with a hiking group. We liked it there.

From about 1830 the systematic drainage of the Hoher Moor began, accompanied by the peasant hand engraving. Mining lasted until around the 1970s, with around two-thirds of the peat being removed. Very good weather protection, as it is almost completely closed. Beautiful lake just 1,200 meters away for washing or swimming.

Nice little hut in the parking lot.

At the edge of the Hohes Moor there is a very well-maintained parking lot, which is best approached from the northeast via the Oldendorf settlement (unless you like gravel roads). There are strips of wildflowers at the edge of the parking lots and a new refuge was built here in 2021. The access to the Hohes Moor is directly on the opposite side of the street.

Here you can rest at a refuge and look over the fishing lake. A trail leads around the lake.
