From April to September, every first Sunday of the month, members of the Schelderwald Mining and Light Railway Association offer guided tours through the 140-meter-long tunnel from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. You can experience firsthand how the miners used to work with tools and lamps. The geological features of the Schelderwald forest, with its ores and minerals, are also vividly explained. Special tours are also available! Detour not worth it, completely concreted

Interesting but unfortunately no information when it was found or the like

Part of the Irrschelde between Oberscheld, Tringenstein and Oberndorf 🍀😉 History on the doorstep 🔝 there are a few more highlights along the way..

The Florentine mine, located south-west of the Martha iron ore mine and east of what was then the Gloria mine, was about 300 meters north-west of what is now the state road from Braunfels to Weilburg. The mining area was awarded to the gentlemen Philipp Götz, Johann Philipp Rosenkranz and Philipp Pfeiffer - all from Philippstein - on October 18, 1858 on Eisenerz; they later sold their property to the "Deutsch-Luxemburgische Bergwerks- und Hütten-AG"; the last owner was "Barbara Rohstoffbetriebe GmbH" in Wülfrath (one of the last large field owners in Germany, including the iron ore mine Fortuna near Oberbiel). Today there is a workshop for the disabled in the immediate vicinity of the closed mine.
