The Hochfilzer Hut is run by the Mannersdorf Nature Friends, is open on Sundays in the summer, and offers seating for approximately 50 people. There are a few very nice trails of varying difficulty (from grade 1 to grade 4 (to Korbaj)) leading to the hut, and the area is also very mountain bike-friendly. The construction of additional mountain bike trails is planned for 2025.

In addition to the possibility to drive the Au to the right or left on the north bank (where the hut is also located) there is also the possibility to cross the Leitha here, to drive a bit to the south and then follow the path in a left curve on a kind of Au- Island to follow between two Leitha arms.

The Friends of Nature have been running a managed refuge on the Mannersdorfer Schiwiese on Scheiterberg since 1972. The "old" refuge, a several times adapted, former vehicle shelter from the limestone quarry was named "Hochfilzerhütte" in 1980 in honor of the long-term chairman of the association. Due to the dilapidated condition of the hut, a new building of a very cozy log house took place in 1999.

17.03.2019 - Large Jaga hut with covered seating in front of it there is also a barbecue area. I hope it did not bother the hunter community that we made our lunch break here.

Hochfilzerhütte is located on the ski meadow at Scheiterberg. Unfortunately, the hut was just shot during the holiday season - 26 June 2017 to 27 August 2017.
