There's something for every age group in the Reingers leisure center. There's a playground for the little ones and a beach volleyball court. The pump track and skill area provide action, where cyclists, scooter riders, rollerbladers and skateboarders can show off their tricks. If you prefer something more leisurely, you can relax on the shady lawn by the swimming pond and enjoy the summer day. The heart of the nature park is the raised moor near the town of Heidenreichstein in the northwestern Waldviertel. The open moor areas and the forest on the edge of the Winkelauer Pond bear witness to a vegetation history that goes back more than 10,000 years. Areas of peat moss, sundew and cotton grass give an idea of the original moorland landscape.

In the nature park, the preservation of the “moor” habitat has the highest priority alongside climate protection. Moors are not characterized by a very large variety of plants and animals, but by relatively few but extremely specialists, such as the northern moss damsel (a type of dragonfly) and the moor frog.

The Heidenreichsteiner Moor Nature Park is 30 hectares in size and enchants all along the line. The so-called "Prügelsteg" allows visitors to dive deep into the high moor. In addition, this area is a nature reserve, Natura 2000 habitat and bird sanctuary at the same time. So Mother Earth is also taken care of!

The Herrensee is surrounded by a 4.5 km long marked circular path that is only intended for pedestrians. Even in winter the path is easy to walk on. Display boards provide information about the flora and fauna. A lido, cafés and boat rentals complete the range of leisure activities. If you are traveling in the region, you should definitely stop by.
