this is great quiet pond

Lovely place, with 19th century vibe. Tickets are also valid for the pools, but we decided to stay near the river in the end. Good food.

My plan was to take a dip in the water here. Which turned out to be forbidden on this side of the pond. There is a camping site with a beach just across the pond though.

Hans Dorn, a Großau innkeeper, donated this pond area to the association for village community, which has been caring for it ever since. A nice place for a rest!

A sheltered cove with a wooden bench on the shore opposite the campsite. Yesterday's winter afternoon, this sunny, idyllic section was the highlight of our round!

There is a well-kept pond with seating here. The name H. Dorn can be read on a large stone. It is said that this man bequeathed a piece of land to the town of Großau for recreational purposes. It is maintained by the owner, the Großau Association for the Promotion of the Village Community, which dredged and cleaned the pond, which is fed by springs and drainage water, in spring 2021 and regularly mows the meadows around it.

At the beginning of the 30s of the last century, the lido was built in an idyllic location in the Thaya curve around Drosendorf and is preserved in its originality with a lot of love and effort. The old tradition of summer retreat can still be lived here in the area with the old wooden pavilion on the natural river. You can relax on the lawn under the large, shady trees. The buffet provides regional and traditional products for the physical well-being.
