Fels Castle in Fels am Wagram houses the local history museum, which collects and displays historical objects from the everyday lives of previous generations. It is also an important meeting place for local clubs and communities. The history of the town is strongly influenced by viticulture: The Schloss Fels winery, associated with the castle, is one of Austria's largest wineries and boasts a historic wine cellar whose origins date back to the 13th century. This cellar once served simultaneously as a tavern and post station on an important imperial road. The wine country surrounding Fels am Wagram, with its cellar lanes and scenic viewpoints, continues to make the town a popular destination for culture and wine enthusiasts.

Best seen from a distance. The closer you get, the more the lower parts of the building disappear

In 1575, Hartmann von Trautmannsdorf began building a moated castle next to this castle, which was completed under Hofkammer President Reichard Streun von Schwarzenau (1538–1600) from the Lower Austrian noble family von Strein (Streen). The castle (copper engraving by Georg Matthäus Vischer, 1672) changed hands several times before it fell victim to the flames in 1696. In the 18th century the burned-out Renaissance castle is renovated and baroque-styled. It is currently owned by Gerhard Zehetdorfer, who bought the castle and around 9,000 m² of land in 1998.

Where Neuaigen Castle is today, there was already a fortified complex that was probably built by Laurenz Freiherr von Hofkirchen. Hofkirchen was enfeoffed in 1494 by the Roman-German King Maximilian I. After the destruction in the Thirty Years' War, Georg Andre Freiherr von Hofkirchen (1562-1623) erected a new building.

The castle is privately owned, unfortunately a visit is not possible. It's also not easy to find, partly surrounded by large hedges and not signposted, so it's easy to drive past.

Neuaigen Castle is a castle on the through road on the western outskirts of the village of Neuaigen in the municipality of Tulln an der Donau in Lower Austria. The late-Renaissance chateau is under monument protection. The previous building was built by Laurenz Freiherr von Hofkirchen at the end of the 15th century. The new building was probably carried out in the early 17th century by Georg Andre von Hofkirchen. The goods and rule was confiscated in 1620 by Emperor Ferdinand II. From Johann Joachim Ehrenreuter as the owner, the castle went to Johann Peter Freiherr von Verdenberg in 1635, to Count Johann Ferdinand von Enkevoerth in 1685, and in 1746 through marriage to Counts Breuner-Enkevoerth. The long avenue in the axis of the main facade was laid out by Count von Zabor , the castle went to Prince Hans von Ratibor in 1894. From 1945 to 1955 the castle was occupied by Russian soldiers. In 1955 the castle went to Franz Albrecht Duke of Metternich-Sandor. 1970 was a restoration.
