5월 3, 2023, Gut Neuschloß Wundschuh
South of Wundschuh is the Neuschloss, a beautiful baroque, two-story building from the mid-18th century. Large farm buildings are attached to the main building, on which a third floor was added between 1804 and 1809. On the site of today's castle there was a farm of the sovereigns called "Viehhofen". It was probably created around 1232 by Duke Friedrich II for his possessions in the western and southern parts of the Graz field. 11월 12, 2022, Schloss Klingenstein (Vasoldsberg)
Klingenstein Castle (Vasoldsberg) is located just a few kilometers south of Graz on a slight hill, surrounded by a picturesque grove. Today, on the castle terrace, you can enjoy the wide view over the country to the Schöckel on one side and to the Koralpe on the other side. This was necessary when the castle was built in the 13th century, because at that time the castle served to secure the hill country. In the last century, the castle, including the 220-hectare site and all the outbuildings, went into private ownership. In 2018 it was acquired by investors, rebuilt, expanded and opened to the public as a unique wedding and event location from 2020. More information at https://schloss-vasoldsberg.at/

11월 12, 2022, Schloss Mühlegg
Schloss Mühlegg, also spelled Mühleck, is a castle in the market town of Gössendorf in Styria. Its history goes back to the middle of the 14th century. The astronomer Johannes Kepler lived in this castle for a short time. Since 1974 it has been used by the Styrian Chamber of Commerce as a boarding school for apprentices. About history View of the castle from the courtyard side A mill was first mentioned in 1355 at the location of the later castle, to which it also owes its current name. Until 1575 the farm belonged to the Grazer Hubamt (financial authority) and in that year came into the possession of the miller Jobst Müller. In 1597 the astronomer Johannes Kepler married Müller's twice widowed daughter Barbara. Müller had an astronomical tower built for Kepler, which was demolished in 1868. Kepler lived in the residence until 1599, but then had to leave the country because of his Protestant faith. In 1603, Michael Müller added the suffix "von und zu Mühleck" to his name. Later he was raised to the hereditary knighthood and the estate was freed from the usual conditions and taxes. Müller's heirs sold the castle in 1642 to Weikhart Fettauer, the owner of Alt-Sturmberg Castle. He sold it to Georg Andree von Schrampf in 1657. Schrampf in turn passed it on to Baron Johann Gabriel von Maschwander in 1661. Hans Friedrich Graf Galler bought the property in 1664, but accumulated such high debts in the years that followed that after the death of Countess Anna Theresia Galler in 1733, it was confiscated and auctioned off in 1741. At the auction, Rudolf von Streitz was awarded the contract. After Streitz, there were frequent changes of ownership. From 1931 until their expropriation in 1940, the Freiherren Berger-Waldenegg owned Mühlegg. They were succeeded by Alfred Graf Doret until 1959. After 1959, the Christian World Mission housed a branch in the castle building. The Styrian Chamber of Commerce has been using the castle as a boarding school for apprentices since 1974, for which purpose it was converted and other buildings were newly constructed.

Fancy something about the story? As early as the first half of the 11th century, St. Martin appears to be owned by the Aribones. Since 1144, the castle and the church have been recorded as provosts of the Admont Abbey, with parts of the property being donated to the Abbey as early as 1072. In 1557 it was converted into a renaissance castle. In 1638 the palace was rebuilt further under the master builder Peter Fasoll. The interior of the separately standing castle church from the years 1738–1740 is one of the main works by Joseph Stammel. In the 19th century, the large-scale park near the ponds (proven ad Wiarn since 1185) around the source of the Bründlbach (see Eisbründl cave) belonged to the castle, which was designed with numerous ponds, avenues and grottos. The building has been used as a people's education center since 1914. The castle belonged to the Admont Abbey until 1936 and has been owned by the Province of Styria ever since. On the Schlossberg Wildon, history can be felt up close and there is so much to discover on the tour; fascinating ruins! The almost uninterrupted settlement until modern times gives the Wildoner Schlossberg a unique position in the entire southeast Alpine region. In 1978, the prehistorian Diether Kramers became interested in this site and seven years later he started an excavation and conservation project of enormous proportions: https://www.meinkreis.at/leibnitz/c-lokales/der-wildoner-schlossberg-schreibt-geschichte_a2682242 Information about the ruins: http://www.burgen-austria.com/archive.php?id=1055 http://www.wehrhäusern.at/stmk/steiermark.html?/stmk/altwildon/altwildon.html http://www.wehrhäusern.at/stmk/steiermark.html?/stmk/neuwildon/neuwildon.html
